Exhibition
Derik completed his schooling in 1976 at the Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool in Pretoria. He qualified as a general dental practitioner from the University of Pretoria in 1982 and obtained a master’s degree in community dentistry in 1996 from the same university. He had wood- and metalwork as a school subject but never had the opportunity to enjoy this as a hobby since he started his career in the military in 1982. He joined the Woodworking Association of Pretoria in 2013 and has an interest in cabinet making.
